Our fruit is all handpicked by us. We try to pick fruit as ripe as possible to ensure maximum flavour. Our peaches, apricots and nectarines generally need from 1-6 days after picking to be fully ripe. We pack our peaches, nectarines and apricots according to ripeness recognizing that some people want to use the fruit as soon as possible, while others want to travel with it. Fruit packed as 'Ripes' tend to need 1-3 days to finish ripening, while our 'Travellers' need about 3-6 days. Please let us know your preference when ordering.
We hand sort and pack all of our fruit to ensure the best quality product. We hope you enjoy!
Harvest dates are approximate and can change by a week or two, depending on the weather each year. We will try to keep our Facebook page updated with what's currently being picked.
We recommend that if you are trying to let your fruit finish ripening, leave it out at room temperature. If your fruit is ripe, and you want it to keep longer, store it in the fridge.
Apples should always be stored in the fridge to keep longer. Especially summer eating apples, which will go soft quickly if left out.
If you are going to process your fruit (canning, freezing, etc.) and you need to peel or slice it, it is best to let your fruit warm up to room temperature first.
Apricot season usually starts early July and goes until the beginning of August. We grow a few different varieties of apricots to suit different needs from fresh eating to canning.
Peaches are by far our biggest crop! We have roughly 30 different varieties of peaches.
Clingstone peaches start around the 2nd week of July until the beginning of August.
Freestone peaches start at the beginning of August and go until the 2nd or 3rd week of September.
We also have White flesh peaches which ripen around the 3rd week of August.
One of our favourite fruits! Nectarines start around the end of July and go until the beginning of September. The early nectarines are clingstone but are great for fresh eating or baking. Later nectarines are freestone which makes them easier to can or freeze, but they are still sweet and juicy and amazing for fresh eating.
We grow a few varieties of sweet plums including Santa Rosa, Red Heart, Black Amber, Catalina, and Simka. Plum season starts at the end of July and goes until the beginning of September.
We grow a few varieties of apples including gala, honeycrisp, and ambrosia. Apple season starts late Aug/early Sept.
We grow only a few varieties of pears including Kalle, Bartlett, Bosc and Anjou. Season starts with Kalle pears in mid August and ends with Anjou in mid to late September.
